I have a 2008 Macbook Pro version 10.5.8 and I cant seem to download any browsers like google chrome for example. What is one update that I could use that would allow me to download more and do more things with my mac in general?

I recently updated my '09 mac from snow leopard to el capitan. I hated how slow my mac became so I moved back to snow lepoard and started fresh by wiping my hard drive. I use google chrome as a required browser for work and was not happy to find out within this month google ended support for Snow Lepoard 10.5.8. I tried downloading old versions of the software but all install without being able to open. I would love to be able to use snow lepoard with chrome like before.
Your post is very confusing. You say you moved back to Snow. If that's the case, you should have no problem installing GChrome. But 10.6 is the minimum. No idea why you are talking about trying to install it on 10.5.8.
It's not uncommon for the latest version of an app to cause problems when installed on older smartphones. Sometime in 2012, Adobe Flash asked me to update it. I tried, but it didn't work because my browsers (firefox and chrome) didn't support the newest flash. I tried to update my browsers, but neither firefox nor chrome supports mac os 10.5.8 anymore. Safari keeps telling me to update flash too. I know that using an older version of flash can be a security hazard, so I really want to update.

Ultimately, Spotify will cease to be supported on 10.5, but not just yet. As an example, We had to "deprecate" Mac OS X 10.4 in a similar way this time last year, but the unupdated application should still work on those systems.
Yeah, I kinda guessed but always safer to check! Spotify don't appear to have any "official" download pages for PPC, but there are a few old installers in that topic I linked too which should work on PPC.
I'm on OSX 10.5.8 and I've followed all the advice on these forums over 10 times. Uninstall reinstall uninstall reinstall over and over. Delete cache files ect over and over. Down load the old version over and over. Restart over and over. Nothing nada zip.
Factor in the inability of sorting my playlists and having offline playlists that need redownloading every time I open the app on my Iphone 5 and I'm pretty sick of Spotify right now. I can't tell you how frustrated I am with the whole experience. It used to be good. I pay 9.99 a month to be annoyed by this software and I used to tell everyone how great it was.
